Terms
Terms of service.
These terms cover how you can use Dekade and what you can expect from us. They’re short and plain because v1 is a free, educational calculator and a waitlist. There isn’t much to negotiate yet.
Last updated: 3 June 2026
What Dekade is, what it is not
Dekade is an educational personal-finance product. It helps you think about a target net worth and a set of milestones using publicly-available reference data and a documented calculation method. It is not regulated financial advice, not a recommendation to buy or sell any product, and not a substitute for a regulated financial adviser who knows your full personal situation.
The calculation is designed to give an honest, useful starting point. It is not guaranteed to be correct for your specific circumstances. Two people with identical wizard answers will get the same result; two people with identical situations may not give identical answers. We do our best to be transparent about this — see the disclaimer page for the regulatory framing.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or older. The wizard rejects ages outside 18-65. The service is aimed at residents of Ireland and the United Kingdom at launch, with France, Germany, and the Netherlands available later in 2026. If you’re elsewhere in the EU you can still complete the wizard, but the calibration will use generic EU averages rather than country-specific anchors.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use Dekade to give other people financial advice in our name.
- Don’t submit data that isn’t yours. The wizard and waitlist are for you, not for scraping other people’s information.
- Don’t try to break the service — no automated submissions, no abuse of the confirmation-email flow, no attacks on the infrastructure.
- Don’t use the share links to harass, defame, or impersonate anyone.
We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules. Repeated abuse is grounds for permanent removal.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist gets you one email at launch and, only if you ticked the optional update box, occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. We don’t take payment for the waitlist; there’s nothing to refund.
We don’t guarantee a specific launch date for v1, or that any individual waitlist member gets access on day one. If demand exceeds capacity at launch we may stagger access fairly, in signup order, and we’ll communicate the schedule by email.
Intellectual property
The Dekade name, wordmark, copy, code, and design are owned by the Dekade team. You can share your individual result page and share image freely (that’s the point), but you can’t copy the site, the calculation, or the milestone framework to launch a competing product. The result you generate, including the wizard answers you provide, remains yours — you can export or delete it whenever you want.
No liability for financial decisions
You make your own financial decisions. Anything you read on Dekade, any number we show you, any milestone we surface, is information for you to think with. Not an instruction to act. We don’t accept liability for any financial loss, missed opportunity, or adverse outcome that follows from using our service. If you’re uncertain about a real decision, talk to a regulated adviser.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under or relating to your use of Dekade is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last twelve months — which, for v1, is zero.
Availability and changes
We aim for the service to be available continuously but we don’t guarantee it. Downtime, errors, and brief outages happen on every internet service; we’ll fix them as quickly as we can.
We may change these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to waitlist members and shown on the homepage for at least 14 days. The last-updated date at the top is the authoritative version indicator.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute will be heard in the Irish courts, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally — in which case that right is preserved.
