Cookies
Cookies we set.
The complete list of cookies dekade.app sets, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. Analytics is off until you actively accept the banner, so the only cookies on first visit are strictly necessary ones.
Last updated: 3 June 2026
Quick summary
- Strictly necessary: 1 cookie. Keeps your wizard answers attached to your browser between visits. Can’t be disabled because the wizard won’t work without it.
- Consent record: 1 cookie. Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics so we don’t re-ask on every page.
- Analytics (optional): 0 cookies until you accept; 1-2 PostHog cookies after you accept. Used to understand which parts of the wizard people find confusing.
- No third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.
Full inventory
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|

dekade-analytics-consent | Dekade (first-party) | Records your accept / decline choice from the consent banner so we don't re-prompt on every page. | 180 days | Strictly necessary |
ph_* | PostHog (first-party, eu.posthog.com) | Anonymised product analytics — pages viewed, wizard step transitions, feature usage. Set ONLY after you accept the banner. Used to find friction points in the wizard. | up to 12 months | Optional (analytics) |
PostHog sets a small number of related cookies (prefix ph_) on the first-party dekade.app domain via the EU instance at eu.posthog.com. No personal identifiers are sent — the PostHog SDK is configured with person_profiles: identified_only and we don’t identify users.
Change your choice
You can change your analytics consent at any time by clicking the Cookie preferences link in the site footer. Declining will immediately stop new PostHog cookies from being set; existing ones will be cleared on your next visit.
You can also clear cookies from your browser settings. If you clear the dekade-wizard-id cookie you’ll lose the link to any in-progress wizard draft on this device. But if you used Save and finish later with your email, you can resume from the link we sent you.
